چکیده
Reclaimed water from wastewater has become a prominent source option to manage scarcity. This study explores the potential of coconut husk biomass, common waste material in Ghana, as valuable low-cost resource for greywater treatment. Engineered column treatment was applied investigate influence pyrolysis and biochar properties biomass on Coconut pyrolyzed at 600°C characterized using SEM, FTIR, XRD. Three engineered columns with 1) raw powder (RCHP), 2) charred (CCHP), 3) sand-gravel filters (control setup) were used. A hydrostatic head throughput 8.0 ml/min hydraulic retention time 45 min maintained columns. The SEM image suggested an increased surface area pores due biomass. RCHP CCHP contributed 63% 95% turbidity removal, respectively. Experimental results showed high removal efficiencies 71% COD CCHP. nitrate efficiency 78.93%, 88.38%, 28.65% observed RCHP, CCHP, control log faecal coliform by two orders magnitude higher than RCHP. Faecal total 2.87 units Significant differences between p < 0.05 electrical conductivity dissolved solids effluents. promising Pyrolyzed is adsorbent applicable

Reffing of coconut husk, the majorprocess in quality coir fibre extraction, causes serious pollution with brackish water lagoons of Kerala. An attempt is made to treat the coconut husk leachate by using a laboratory scale UASB-reactor The experiment was conducted with loading of leachate from 1 kg of fresh coconut husk. The anaerobic treatment was done continuously The parameters like VFA, pH, ...
متن کاملBiotreatment of Electroplating Industrial Effluent Using Coconut Husk
The treatment of electroplating industrial effluent by coconut husk was carried out by analyzing the physico-chemical parameters of the effluent such as pH, salinity, calcium, magnesium, phosphates, nitrates, BOD3 30C̊ and total solids using standard methods. The efficiency of coconut husk was tested by using it in different quantities such as 25, 50, 75 and 100 grams for five days. As a result,...
متن کاملEffects of Application of Coconut Husk and Coir Dust on the Yield of Coconut
In recent years much attention has been focussed on the importance of moisture conservation practices in coconut lands, particularly in drier parts of the Coconut triangle. Experiments were conducted in mature coconut plantations, to study the effect of various methods of application of coconut husk and coir dust, in lateritic and sandly soils, on the yield of palms. The results revealed that t...
